Who this is for
This service is for Year 12 and Year 13 students studying Biology, Chemistry or Physics at A-Level. It is suitable for students who want to push from a B to an A or A*, students who have fallen behind on content and need to catch up, and students preparing for university applications where strong science grades are essential (medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, natural sciences).
The credential that matters
I studied Biology and Chemistry through to A-Level and went on to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (First Class) and an MBBS at UCL. I teach A-Level sciences not just as exam subjects, but as the foundation for everything that comes after — which means students who work with me understand the material rather than just memorising it. That understanding is what distinguishes A from A* work.
How it works
Specification audit
We map your specification and identify the highest-yield topics based on your past performance and upcoming exams.
Content sessions
Systematic coverage of topic areas — explanations, diagrams, questions and consolidation.
Exam technique
Past papers, mark scheme analysis and extended writing practice under timed conditions.
Pre-exam focus
Final revision pass, mock papers and targeted review of persistent weak areas before exams.
“I went from a predicted C to an A in A-Level Biology. Izem did not just teach me the content — she made me understand it in a way that meant I could answer questions I had never seen before. That made all the difference in the actual exams.”
Frequently asked
Can you tutor A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the same time?
Yes — many of my students work across multiple A-Level sciences simultaneously. We structure sessions to avoid overlap fatigue and prioritise based on upcoming exam dates and current performance in each subject.
Do you follow the specific exam board specification?
Always. I work from your exact specification and past papers from your exam board. The mark scheme language and question style varies significantly between AQA, OCR and Edexcel, and exam technique is board-specific.
Can you help with required practicals and coursework?
Yes — required practicals are increasingly weighted in A-Level science exams, and many students underestimate them. I cover practical design, analysis, evaluation and the specific vocabulary examiners expect.
My child is in Year 12 and already struggling. Is it too early to start tutoring?
It is never too early — in fact, starting in Year 12 is ideal. A-Level sciences are cumulative: gaps in Year 12 content make Year 13 much harder. Getting on top of the material early is the single best thing you can do for final exam performance.
