Tutoring grounded in real experience

I'm a qualifying doctor at UCL and a private tutor with over five years of one-to-one experience. I know what it takes to get into medical school — because I've done it — and I bring that same clarity and rigour to every subject I teach.

My approach is simple: understand the student first. Every session is tailored — to your pace, your exam board, your goals. No templates, no one-size-fits-all programmes. Just focused, effective teaching.

I work with students across West London and online across the UK. Whether you're aiming for a top medical school or need patient, structured support with GCSEs — I'm here to help you get there.

Your exam board, covered

Every session is built around your exact specification — from AQA triple science to CAIE and UCAT. No generic revision material.

Not a matching service. A tutor who knows your child.

The same tutor, every session

No handoffs, no substitutes, no being matched with whoever is available. Your child works with one person who learns how they think — and builds on it every time.

Medical-school insight, first-hand

I sat the UCAT. I wrote the personal statement. I went through the interviews and got the offer. I know what works because I have done it — not read about it.

A tutor who is still in it

I am a qualifying UCL doctor. What admissions panels are looking for right now, what extracurriculars strengthen an application, what a strong personal statement actually reads like — I know, because I am living it.

What students say

Izem transformed my approach to A-Level Biology. Her ability to explain complex topics clearly and connect them to real medicine made all the difference. I got an A* and an offer from my first-choice medical school.

Frequently asked questions

With an agency, you are matched with whoever is available. With me, you get one tutor — someone who has been through every stage your child is facing. I am a qualifying doctor at UCL. I sat the UCAT, wrote the personal statement, went through the interviews, and got the offer. I know what makes a medical school application stand out because I have done it myself — not read about it. I also work with a small number of students at any one time, which means I am genuinely invested in each one, not just filling a diary.

The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is a standardised admissions test required by most UK medical schools. It tests verbal reasoning, decision making, quantitative reasoning, abstract reasoning and situational judgement. As a UCL medical student who sat the UCAT, I provide structured preparation covering all five sections — with timed practice, strategy and feedback based on real experience of what works.

We start with a 1-hour conversation about your motivations, experiences and target universities. I then help you identify your strongest material, structure a compelling narrative and refine your writing across multiple drafts. I know what admissions tutors are looking for from the inside — I can tell you honestly what reads as authentic versus generic, and help you stand out.

I specialise in the sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics at both GCSE and A-Level, across all major exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, CAIE). I also support students with UCAS personal statements and university admissions more broadly. If you are unsure whether your subject falls within my expertise, just ask — I am happy to have a conversation before we commit to anything.

Yes — I teach both in-person in West London and online via Zoom across the UK. Online sessions are fully interactive: we use a shared whiteboard, annotated PDFs and screen sharing to replicate the in-person experience. Many of my students find online sessions just as effective, with the added flexibility of no travel time.

I am based in West London and cover Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Chiswick, Kensington & Chelsea, Brentford and surrounding areas. If you are slightly outside these areas, please get in touch — I am sometimes able to arrange travel for longer-term engagements. Alternatively, online sessions remove all location constraints.
